Pastoral Council for Belcarra and Balla parishes
History
Belcarra Pastoral Council commenced approximately 10 years ago. As we had the privilege of a priest assigned to both churches, there was a Pastoral Council in both Balla and Belcarra Church areas.
Since 2010 one priest covers both Church areas, both Balla and Belcarra Pastoral Councils unanimously decided that the way forward was to have a joint Pastoral Council.
Working With the Community
The Pastoral Council has worked with Belcarra Community Council to develop a Walk Way around the Parish Owned Field in Belcarra. The Council has also worked with Belcarra Community Council to provide a Bottle Bank in the community. We have also facilitated Belcarra National School using the Parish Field as a sports facility.
